SENIOR NETWORK ENGINEER
Job Location: NORTHERN VIRGINIA
  • Senior Network Engineer
    In search of a Sr. Network Engineer to join a dynamic team of network and unified communications engineers for an on-site position in Northern VA.  No remote work, parking provided. Flexible work hours, normal business hours, Mon-Fri.  No shift work but may be on-call when established on the team.

    This team provides planning, design, configuration, and deployment, as well as tier 3-4 troubleshooting support, for our DOD customer. As a Sr. Network Engineer, you will bring your experience and expertise to propel the team to success and will be a pivotal member of a team that drives work forward within the program. The work is hands-on and requires an engineer who can work with limited guidance, and you will provide technical guidance to junior engineers. You will support the creation and review of network designs and conduct hardware evaluations in a lab and with vendors. An excellent candidate will not shy away from writing a test plan or reading through a vendor’s technical documents to solve a problem and write a resolution report.

    Daily tasks include:
    •  Create/modify network drawings, author system engineering documents, and plans
    •   Support design, test, and pre-deployment readiness reviews
    •   Provide the team with recommendations on modern engineering approaches and strategies to improve successful task order deployments
    •  Develops, implements, and manages network engineering processes, including configuration management and design standards to ensure contract compliance, technological relevancy, and sustainability
    •  Performs capacity planning of the network by monitoring and analyzing network performance and availability
    •  Proactively researches and evaluates tools and technologies, as appropriate, in the network environment, while developing solutions to increase performance and lower the total cost of ownership
    •  Flexible with scheduled support of occasional ASI/outages after hours and on weekends

    Required Qualifications
    •  Bachelor’s Degree in computer engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or other related engineering degree, and a minimum of 8+ years of related professional experience; 14+ years may be substituted in lieu of a degree
    •  Experience with the design, implementation, and support of network infrastructure solutions for routing and switching of complex networks
    •  Experience implementing and troubleshooting WAN topologies leveraging ethernet, T-Carrier, and Optical Carrier circuits
    •  Experience and understanding of networking fundamentals such as network protocols and common services (e.g., DNS, FTP, SSH, SNMP)
    •  Implementation and troubleshooting experience of networks using concepts/protocols such as BGP, OSPF, MPLS, VPNs, and emerging concepts such as Software Defined Networking.
    •  CCNP Enterprise (formerly Certified Network Professional (CCNP)
    •  Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA)
    •  IAT Level 3 Certification: (Examples include: SP+ CE, CCNP Security, CISA, CISSP, GCED, GCIH, and CCSP)
    •  Prior experience supporting a Government and/or Department of Defense customer
    •  Must have a current TS/SCI security clearance and the ability to maintain the clearance; US citizenship required.

    Desired Qualifications:
    •  Experience in engineering, deploying, and troubleshooting voice and video collaboration systems such as the CUCM, UCS platform, Cisco Meeting Server (CMS), Telepresence Management System (TMS), legacy video conferencing hardware, Multi-controller Units, and Voice Gateways
    •  COMSEC and mobile Travel pack experience, highly desirable

SENIOR Information Assurance Security Engineer 
Responsibilities:
  • Senior IA Engineers shall have at a minimum 5+ years field experience in IA at start of work.
  • Responsible for updating security patches.
  • Maintains network security and data protection through monitoring of devices, software authenticity and firewall protection.
  • Works with outside vendors in support of security
  • Responsible for maintaining networks in a LAN/WAN environment and day-to-day operations of enterprise-level hardware and data communications by minimizing system downtime and maximizing system performance.
  • Maintains network security and data protection through monitoring of devices, software authenticity and firewall protection.
  • Maintains communications system requirements including WAN, Internet and Private connections to all sites. Works with outside vendors in support of communications.
  • Personnel shall troubleshoot system equipment in the field
  • VTC equipment includes, but is not limited to: Cisco codecs, A/V switches, scalers, transceivers, fiber, AMX controllers, AMX touch panels, echo cancellers, audio mixers, video mixers, cameras, display monitors, terminal servers, etc. Support equipment includes, but is not limited to: Cisco phones, Ricoh fax machines, workstations, servers, printers, etc.
  • Personnel will receive team training on uncommon equipment such as “Trip Kits” and shall be responsible for troubleshooting those devices once trained.
  • Handle COMSEC equipment and shall sign the periodic COMSEC briefing provided by Security Team.
  • MS Windows literate for performing some duties.
  • Fill out daily timecards to comply with Government regulations.
  • Update the ticketing system in a timely manner, including calling into the NOC for on-site arrive and off-site departure.
  • Support PMO directed network reprogramming time for such things as changing IP addresses in a non-emergency situation.
  • Shall dress in a professional manner consistent with other members of the maintenance team.
  • Hours: Mon- Friday- normal 9 hrs,
  • Work location: DC Metro area
 
Qualifications
• A minimum Cisco CCNA Route/Switch Certification or Higher
• Have and maintain a Comptia Security+ Certification at start of work
• 5+ years enterprise network/ Information Assurance experience
•  Active TS/SCI
  • Additional personal security interview beyond TS during Skillbridge period..
